If You Want to Volunteer

Point Roberts has always been on the lookout for the highest quality responders we can attract.  We firmly believe in the fact that we develop some of the best and most caring responders in Whatcom County through a competitive and selective process. Through International partnership, we attract many interested candidates from Canada due to our success in helping them maintain their professional disciplines through a proactive educational approach.

We have enjoyed a highly successful program.  Every member is held to the same training standards and performance factors. From this, every member realizes the value of being a contributing part of the team.

We conduct our volunteer hiring processes as needed.  Our goal is to maintain a roster of 30 active volunteers. We will hold all applications for 6 months and contact you for the hiring(s) that fall within that period. Our volunteers serve in all levels of medical responders including Paramedic and certification in Firefighter 1 and 2. Some of our members also hold IFSAC (International Fire Service Accreditation Congress) sanctioned certification as Fire Officers.  We offer a Volunteer Pension through the BVFF as well as a Volunteer Stipend Plan.

We strongly look for members who are interested in gaining their Washington State EMT and Firefighter certifications.
